The Top 13 Eurocamp sites in France for a Family Holiday

Planning a Eurocamp Holiday in France but overwhelmed by choices? We’ve tested and reviewed the top Eurocamp parks so you can find the best choice for your family.

Mike and I have been on over 50 Eurocamp holidays. We started going as children with our parents, and since we met and had our own children, have gone on a whole load more. In fact, we actually met each other working for Eurocamp in the South of France back in 2014, so we know a thing or two about Eurocamp in France.

Since having children, we’ve explored some of the best campsites in France, and many of our families favourite sites have been Eurocamp ones.

Below is our list of the best Eurocamps in France. These French Eurocamps will range from big all singing, all dancing resorts to the more chilled out campsites and everything in between. Each park has something unique to offer, which is why we can’t just choose one favourite – and the reason we’ve written such in depth reviews. So grab a cuppa, relax and start your holiday research.

The Best Eurocamp in France

Le Pin Parasol, Vendee

Effectively, 2 different resorts in one, Le Pin parasol is a Yelloh! Village park.

The first side: Sensations has a family focused atmosphere with pools, waterslides, soft play, bouncy castles and activities for all the ages, whilst the Nature et Sens side feels like a tranquil wellness resort with spa pools, quiet zones, and luxurious camping pitches.

Eurocamp are based on the fun and family friendly Sensations side, but they still have easy access to the Nature et Sens for relaxing, they also offer some great accommodation options.

La Chapelle, Argeles-sur-mer

La Chapelle is a Eurocamp holiday village, located on the stunning Mediterranean coast. The town of Argeles Sur Mer and the beach are just outside the campsites gates and you couldn’t get a better option for families who want sunshine, beaches, pools and life.

The aquatic area features something for everyone: Lagoon pools, lane pools, covered facilities, childrens splash areas and fast flumes. It’s a great French Eurocamp for everyone.

This Eurocamp can be done without a car as Perpignan airport is right around the corner.

La Croix Du Vieux Pont, Berny Riviere

La Croix du Vieux Pont is a Homair campsite in Berny-Rivière, northern France. We absolutely love this Eurocamp. Not only did I work there back in 2012, I have been on family holidays there in 2008, 2019, 2021 and we’re planning to go back again soon for a cheeky Disney Land Paris trip.

The park has extensive facilities that are far beyond most other sites we have stayed at including soft play, bowling, laser, ziplines, bumper boats, bouncy castles, trampolines, lagoons…etc. And I haven’t even discussed the pool areas yet.

The pool facilities at this French Eurocamp have been recently renovated to include extra slides making it one of the best sites in northern France.

St Avit Loisirs, Dordogne

Saint Avit Loisirs is a Stunning Dordogne Eurocamp with incredible family friendly facilities. Whilst you will need a car for this site, the scenery here is hard to beat. Rolling hills, countryside sunsets and the cleanest air you’ll breathe, we love this Eurocamp.

It is better for families with young children, not so much for older teenagers although it does have some great pool facilities and newly renovated waterslides.

We have stayed at this Eurocamp multiple times and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Ranc Davaine, Ardeche

Ranc Davaine is a Yelloh! Village campsite situated in the stunning Ardeche mountains. We absolutely loved this Eurocamp for its hard to beat pool facilities. This parc has some of the best waterslides and one of the warmest indoor pool areas to date, but not only that, it also has a ton of outdoor pool areas too.

Plus, the area around the campsite is great. There are gorges, caves, fresh water, rivers, lakes and so much more to explore. We’d definitely recommend the Ardeche for a Eurocamp holiday in France.

Camping La Garangeoire, St Julien Des Landes

Camping La Garangeoire is a traditional Eurocamp. It’s one of those sites that makes me think about the ol’ camping days where everyone was in classic style tents surrounded by nature and friendly people.

That’s the reason it’s one of the best Eurocamps in France.

The campsite owners live on-site in a beautiful chateau and are fantastic at ensuring the campsite standard remains high and they organise plenty of family friendly activities throughout the season, including the famous “build your own raft race”

La Rive, Biscarrosse

There’s a reason we have stayed at this Eurocamp multiple times. It’s one of the best Eurocamps in France for an Easter holiday stay thanks to its indoor pool facilities that open very early in the year.

Whilst we have only visited at Easter, the weather has always been fantastic, we’ve used all of the indoor facilities and many of the outdoor facilities and would recommend it to literally everyone.

We even spent 14 days there in 2023 without ever leaving the site.

Domaine Des Ormes, Brittany

Just minutes from the ferry port of Saint Malo, Les Ormes makes a perfect holiday location for first-time Eurocamp families in France. It’s comparable to a centre parks thanks to the gorgeous indoor dome pool which kept us toasty warm even in thee October school holidays.

But it’s not only the pools that make this a great shout for all types of families. The facilities here are brilliant.

There’s tree-top climbing, golf, archery, water ski-ing, pedalos, multiple pools, kids clubs, eateries and bars.

Sylvamar, Landes

This could be the best Eurocamp on the French Atlantic coast. It has everything you could ask for and more. Indoor pool areas, outdoor slides, entertainment, spas and so much more.

The main things we love about this Eurocamp were the small soft play area that kept our toddler entertained between the pool trips and the fact that we could really easily cycle to the wild Atlantic coast at Labenne.

La Yole, Languedoc-Roussillon

Whilst this Eurocamp wasn’t necessarily our cup of tea, it’s extremely popular with British families looking for sun, sea and good vibes. This mediterranean Eurocamp is just a short walk from the beach and features an extensive pool area with slides and splash areas. There’s cheap wine on tap and many of the customers fly into this campsite via Beziers airport. It’s a great first timer campsite for families who are used to the all-inclusive holiday scene and would like somewhere they can fly to and stay on a budget.

Des Menhirs, carnac

This campsite was our big 2020 holiday. We had so many fears Covid would cancel it. Thankfully, we still managed to go; however, our family in the UK weren’t so lucky. The campsite is fairly small and only houses Eurocamp mobile homes, but it is walking distance to the local town of Carnac and the stunning beach.

Le Vieux Port, Messanges

Le Vieux port in Messanges is a great Eurocamp for an active family holiday. Set on France’s sunny southwest coast and nestled among fragrant pine forests, it’s the perfect mix of beach and nature.

Families can surf, cycle, or simply enjoy the miles of golden sand right on the doorstep. The facilities are top‑notch, with pools, waterslides, and plenty to keep the kids busy while parents unwind.

The local town is just a short bike ride away and this region of France is the best destination for a cycling friendly eurocamp holiday.

la Vallee, Houlgate

La Vallee is a top-notch Eurocamp in Northern France. It’s the best Eurocamp for visiting the D-Day beaches and close to the English channel for familis who are nervous about travelling in France. This is one of the first Eurocamps I recommend to people who are first timers to Eurocamp and these kind of holidays.

The Homair campsite is just a short walk away from the nearest town of Houlgate and its stunning beach area, but to be honest, you might not ever want to leave the newly renovated pool area.

How We Travel to the best Eurocamp Sites in France

One of the things we love about Eurocamp holidays is how easy some of them are to access, even without a car. Many Eurocamp sites are close to airports (we’ve even made a post on them), making flying a really practical option for families, especially those with young children. Over the years we have both driven and flown to Eurocamp and each option has its own pros and cons.

If you’re flying into France and your chosen Eurocamp is more than 45 minutes from the airport, we recommend hiring a car. Europcar is our go-to for its reliability and wide coverage across France.

For those in the UK who prefer taking their own car, especially when visiting Eurocamps in Northern France, there are plenty of ferry routes to consider:

  • Brittany Ferries – Portsmouth, Plymouth or Poole towards Caen, Le Havre St Malo, Roscoff, or Cherbourg
  • P&O Ferries – Dover to Calais
  • DFDS Seaways – Dover to Dunkirk or Newhaven to Dieppe

We prefer Brittany ferries, so much so that we recently signed up to their club voyage program which is a cost saving way for families to travel across the channel often.

What to Pack for a Eurocamp Holiday in France

Packing for a Eurocamp trip is much simpler than traditional camping. You’ll have a mobile home or pre-erected tent, so bulky equipment isn’t necessary. For a full breakdown, see our Eurocamp Packing List, but here are some of our essentials:

  • Lightweight suitcase and cabin-friendly bags
  • Children’s Sack’n’Seat (great for restaurants with young children)
  • Speedos or tight-fitting swimwear – required at many Eurocamp pool complexes
