Every Eurocamp is different, and the best one for us might not be the best one for you. Here are our picks by the kind of holiday you want and what you’d like close by.
Eurocamps by holiday style
Every family wants something different from a Eurocamp holiday. Some like it loud, some like it quiet, some live for the beach, some can’t stand sand. The picks below are all campsites we’ve actually stayed at or set foot on, and what we loved about each one. If you want a hand matching your family to the right parc, I’ve started a camping planning service, which you can read about here.
Best Eurocamp parcs for nature lovers

If your family loves the outdoors, pick a parc in the forest or by a lake, with walking and cycling from the door. La Garangeoire in the Vendée is a favourite of ours: it’s built on a historic estate with lakes for pedalos and fishing, and feels much more like a rustic countryside campsite than a polished resort. Ranc Davaine in the Ardèche has a newly renovated water park if your kids want the nature by day and slides by evening. Other nature-filled sites we rate:
Saint Avit loisirs, Dordogne, France
This 5-star campsite in the Dordogne, France, Offers a stunning 53-hectare setting with a large water park and fast waterslides. Surrounded by lush forests, it provides diverse activities such as fishing, sports, and entertainment for all ages.
Ranc Davaine, Ardeche, France
5-star campsite in the Ardèche region of France, situated along the banks of the Chassezac River, offering direct river access and a stunning natural setting. The campsites waterpark is newly renovated and offers some amazing waterslides.
Other natural areas we love include:

Eurocamps for Resort Lovers:

Other families want the convenience of a bigger resort: larger buildings, modern facilities, more structured activities. These are the sites with the multiple pools, the daily kids’ club programme and the evening shows.
La Rive, Biscarosse, France
La Rive is a premium Yelloh Village campsite in Biscarrosse, France, offering exceptional amenities and a stunning location near lakes and the Atlantic Ocean.
Lively Eurocamp sites

If your family likes a lively atmosphere, pick a campsite with plenty of evening entertainment and a busy pool. La Yole on the Mediterranean coast is booming with life, cheap wine and activities from morning to night. Sylvamar near the Atlantic has a serious waterpark and a genuinely lively atmosphere, worth it if your family wants constant activity over a quiet pitch.
La Yole, Valras Plage, France
This Eurocamp Resort is booming with life. Located on the Mediterranean coast it offers holiday makers sunshine, cheap wine and lots of activities.
Sylvamar, Les Landes, France
Sylvamar stands out for its lively atmosphere, exceptional waterpark and premium facilities. We LOVE it here, and thanks to its location near the Atlantic ocean it makes a great base for watersports fans too.
Another Eurocamp that stands out to us is Playa Montroig, Miami Platja, Spain. I worked a season here back in 2013, so I know it well. It’s a big resort-style site on the Costa Dorada with multiple bars and restaurants on site, and PortAventura is a short drive away if your kids want a theme park day.
Quiet and peaceful Eurocamp holidays

For families who want a slower pace, there are Eurocamps built for unwinding rather than queuing for slides. La Garangeoire is at its quietest outside high season, when you’ll likely have the lagoon pool to yourselves and can book the campsite’s free evening Garderie childcare for a grown-ups-only dinner.
La Garangeoire (in low season)
This Eurocamp gets a little livelier in high season, but outside peak weeks it’s a genuinely peaceful escape, with lakes to fish and nature walks right from the pitch.
Parc De Fierbois, Loire Valley, France
5-star Eurocamp in the Loire Valley, offering a serene natural setting with a wealth of activities and amenities for families and nature lovers.
The best Eurocamp is the one that fits what your family actually wants from the week, not the one with the biggest pool.
Eurocamps by what’s nearby
Eurocamps near theme parks

For families who want theme parks on the doorstep, these Eurocamp sites put you minutes from some of Europe’s best amusement parks.
- La Croix du Vieux Pont, France: Near Disneyland Paris. We’ve stayed here four times since 2002, most recently with my wheelchair-using nan in tow, and the campsite bus to Disney runs twice a week if you don’t fancy driving. You can read our review of La Croix du Vieux Pont here.
- Duinrell, Netherlands: This one’s on our list rather than a stay: it sits inside Duinrell Theme Park itself, with ride access included and the Tiki Pool water park on site. We haven’t been yet, but it’s firmly on the plan.
Eurocamps near beaches

Beach lovers can walk to sun, sand and sea at these Eurocamp locations.
- Pra’delle Torri, Italy: On the Adriatic coast with direct access to a sandy beach and a wide range of water sports.
- Le Vieux Port, France: In the Landes region, right by a surf beach, with a tapas restaurant on site that we tried on our last night there. You can read our review of Le Vieux Port here.
Eurocamps near ferry ports

For an easy run from the UK, these campsites sit close to the major ferry ports.
- Camping La Bien Assise, France: A short drive from Calais, good for a quick getaway with minimal driving at the start or end of your trip.
- La Vallée, France: Just 35 minutes from Caen-Ouistreham port, this Normandy parc is good for exploring the D-Day beaches. We stayed here during a 30-degree heatwave and the splash park, new that year, was the highlight of the trip. You can read our full review of La Vallée here.
Eurocamps near train stations
For those who’d rather travel by train, these Eurocamps are close to major stations.
- Domaine Des Ormes, France: Accessible via St Malo train station and a short taxi ride. We’ve booked a last-minute mobile home here before, two days ahead, and paid €159 for 4 nights, so it’s worth checking late deals.
- Clarys Plage, France: Near Nantes, with a train to Saint Hilaire de Riez and a short transfer. This parc doesn’t have its own shop, but there’s a gate straight into the Super U next door.
Eurocamps near airports
We’ve written a whole post on the best Eurocamps near airports that you can find here.

For those flying in, these campsites are a short transfer from their nearest airport.
- Norcenni Girasole Club, Italy: About 43km from Florence Airport. We stayed here for a week and took the train into Florence in 25 minutes; day trips to Rome and Pisa also run from the site.
- Sanguli, Spain: Just 12km from Reus Airport, on the Costa Dorada near PortAventura. We haven’t stayed here yet, but it’s rated 4.5 on Google from almost 10,000 reviews.
- La Chapelle, France: In the centre of Argelès-sur-Mer, 35km from Perpignan Airport. We loved the splash park here, and the Mediterranean is a 5-minute walk from the gate.
Eurocamps near town centres and cities

For families who want urban attractions on the doorstep, these parcs put a city within easy reach.
- Paris Est, France: Near the centre of Paris, with easy access to the city’s main sights.
- Camping Village Roma, Italy: A relaxed, smaller site close to Rome’s historic centre, good if you want the city without a lively resort atmosphere.
Eurocamps with the best waterslides

If the slides make the holiday, these campsites have some of the best water parks going.
- Ranc Davaine, France: The water park here was newly renovated with fast new slides when we visited.
- Pra’delle Torri, Italy: A large water park with multiple slides and pools, right on the Adriatic.
We’ve written a full post on the best Eurocamps in France with waterslides, you can read it here.
Which Eurocamp is best: your questions answered
Which Eurocamp is best for toddlers?
La Chapelle’s splash park was a huge hit with our 1 and 4 year old, with small slides and a giant water bucket built for little ones. La Garangeoire also works well for toddlers thanks to its dedicated toddler pools and the free Garderie childcare for 3 to 10 year olds.
Which Eurocamp has the best water park?
Ranc Davaine and Pra’delle Torri both have genuinely impressive slide complexes. If you want a resort-scale pool area, Playa Montroig and Le Vieux Port both run multiple pools and slides alongside their bars and restaurants.
Which Eurocamp is best for a quiet family holiday?
La Garangeoire outside high season is the quietest we’ve stayed at, with lakes, nature walks and a lot of green space between pitches. If you need quiet during school holidays rather than off-peak, look at smaller sites over the big resort-style parcs.
Do I need a car for a Eurocamp holiday?
Not always. Sites near a train station, like Domaine des Ormes or Clarys Plage, work without one. Resort-style sites with their own shops, restaurants and entertainment, like La Croix du Vieux Pont, also mean you rarely need to leave the campsite. If you’re planning day trips further afield, a car gives you more freedom.
